Picked up some new wood for the 357 Herrett, so figured I would snap a quick pic of the pair with the Herrett presentation case. ๐Ÿ‘

My dad has hunted every year with a 30 Herrett Contender since the 70s, before I was born. The 357 Herrett was one of the first guns I purchased, when I could, because they felt almost magical to me. I just recently found the Steve Herrett edition 30. They hold a special place.

Ebay. The seller was an antique shop.

The set had never been mounted on a frame, as I had to remove a bit of wood from both pieces for it to fit the action.

I had been checking out High Plains for awhile but all their finished sets for the Contender with a 10" were sold. They had plenty of G2 and Encore sets available. Pretty stuff there...

Had a 357 Herret back in the early 80s. It was a boomer. Just shot paper with it.

Nice Herrett's for some reason I never got into them back in the 80's (I know dumb of me). Now I have both a 30 and 357 in 14 inch barrels. Care to share some load info to a novice in the Herrett world?

Same here, except I did shoot a couple whitetails with my 10 inch .357, believe in '82 and '83. The 158 Hornady sure killed a lot faster than the 180gr Speer. The Speer was too tough for Herrett velocities.

Amazing to see a 10 in pistol with a 2x scope shoot 3 shot MOA groups at 100 yards, in a cartridge that is a bit of a snorter.
