I'm thinking about a Mcmillan stock for a M70 sporter in 300wsm.

Choosing between the Winchester Hunter or the Supergrade.

My question - Does the "super grade" Mcmillan Stock feel the same as the standard Sporter walnut stock that is fitted to the rifle? It looks the same and to the naked eye and I love the fit.

If not, what are the key differences?

I wanted a hunter's edge, but the comb looks way low.

Thanks.

I've had each of the stocks you mention and my favorite was the Winchester Hunter...it has the Sako style pistol grip with some palm swell. I find that style stock easy to shoot from the bench and even easier off hand. Ask McMillan if you can get the Winchester Hunter with Edge fill for a 300 WSM and if so that would be my first choice.

My hunters edge is on a long action standard cal featherweight and I don't find the comb to be too low. I really like the stock, but for a 300 WSM with sporter barrel the Supergrade in edge fill would be my 2nd choice.

Yes, it does to my hands.

Agree with AKwolverine about the McMillan super grade feeling the same as the standard spotter walnut.

Thanks all

Answers my question. Does anyone have one in Edge fill? Approximate weight?
