I received a few knives from Gene over the last month. Today, I requested to get moved to the end of the line. He sent the message below back and said to share it. Looks like he’ll have a good bit of recovery time.
Hey…
Fell off a ladder last Thursday and broke left ankle and right tibia just below the knee. Surgery on the ankle and four nights in hospital.
OT/PT starts next week. Hope to put some weight on right leg in 6-8 weeks and on the ankle in 10-12. No knifemaking for a while but plan to pick up where I left off if guys that have waited patiently are still up for it.
Pretty big screwup.

How long was his wait before this? He confirmed I was on his list in May 2020 and I’ve not heard from him since.
