A guy I know swears by the heavier bullets in his 7-08. I a, gonna experiment due to his insistence. I think if you find an accurate load with the 150 grain partitions and know your hold overs, you should be rocking along on anything you wanna shot. I have had great accuracy out of my wife’s with thr 120 grain TTSX’s though.

For my 7-08 I use a lot of 154's and H4350 more than gets it done.

I couldnt get PArtitions to shoot well in my 7-08, whereas everything else (Sierra SP's, Nos BT, and Horn ELDX) all shot well.
I use 150BT's primarily in my (Savage), and have always loved that rifle. Unfortunately...... my son loves it MORE so I rarely get to shoot it anymore!
I use IMR 4350, at just under 2700fps. Works great on TX whitetails, pigs, and coyotes. No experience with it on bigger critters than those.

Never recovered a 140gr Partition outta a .260rem, 6.5 CM, 7mm-08rem, .270win. Have recovered several 150gr Partitions in the .270win. For my money the 140gr Partition is the ultimate big game bullet in all 4 cartridges mentioned. A TTSX light for cal pushed fast a close second.

My first kill with the Mighty-08 was a 4x4 Roosevelt bull, with a single 140 gr Partition, shot at 68 yards. Hit him broadside on the left side in the scapula. I recovered the bullet under the hide on his right side, perfect mushroom. P

If you were hunting under the min 300yds would your bullet choice change? I'm seriously considering the 120gr TTSX as the 150gr TTSX in -06 has been an absolute monster on big game. FYI Just getting into my 3rd 7mm-08rem. A Kimber Hunter.

Depending on where you live (I'm in CA and have been using the 120TTSX for hunting here and have never seen a condor in the wild) either the Barnes or Nosler 120gr bullets seem to be the "go to" projectiles here on the Campfire in the 7-08. Review some posts from Pharmseller and Dirtfarmer (see above). RS Big Game and Rel17 seem to be the quickest and most accurate. Good luck finding any components currently... Mark

At this point it’s probably more about using components that you can find, rather than components you prefer. P

I've used H380 behind Hornady's 154RN with great results on whitetail.
