I am considering purchase of a Star Modelo Super in 9x23 Largo. How hard is it to convert that pistol to 9x19?
I have nothing against the Largo cartridge, and the pistol comes with 850 rounds of ammo, but I'm unsure how available ammo may be when I run out.

Not sure but unless a 9x19 barrel dropped straight in with correct headspace then I think there would be more work and cost that would make it not worthwhile. There's not a lot of metal in the barrel so don't think it could be sleeved with a shorter chamber.

On the bright side it's a good reason to buy another pistol in 9x19.

9mm Largo brass is available from Star Line. Good excuse to start reloading.

Reloading sounds like the best option. The brass is backordered, which means it's about as available as anything else. Thanks for the help.

Before I bought the Star Line brass, I used some Super brass to load for my Destroyer carbine. The bolt face had to be opened up slightly but it worked and the correct Largo brass also works. Don’t know if the Super brass would fit the Star breech face. Do NOT use Super loads in the Star!

Your brass problem is easily dealt with, that model A Star will eat any 9x23 CASE, 38 AUTO(acp), 38 Super brass, 9mm Largo ,38 Super Comp, 9mm super comp, 9mm Styer, Armscor 38 super RL , 38 super TJ, and more. Just load to the 38acp pressure levels and go for it. The major difference is the rim diameters, but they ALL will work They are nice pistols and stronger than most folks will admit, I have used Super ammo in mine with no bad effects, Work up the loads for YOUR pistol...
