Had two fish smoke a topwater, one hammered a bucktail.

Not a bad way to kill a few hours aye?

Well. It's had eons and eons to grow them lol.

I don't fish the same creek each time. I rotate between 3 or 4 different streams based on water conditions and what scenery I wanna look at for the day lol.

Well done!

I've fished the New River in Va for the last 30 years. Smallmouth and redeye numbers are way down, and have been for years. Lots of Muskie though. State says they don't eat smallmouth but I don't believe it.

You can believe whatever you want. Muskies always get blamed when people can't catch fish. Yet some of the top smallmouth and walleye fisheries in the world have excellent Muskie fishing. Lake of the woods, lake st Clair, and a myriad of others. Test after test after study after study has been done on muskies all over the world where the stomach contents are flushed. I can't remember the number but it's usually a number like <3% of the contents are made up of gamefish. That includes bass, bluegill, crappie. The other 97% is soft rayed fish such as suckers, carp, shad, etc. along with frogs, snakes, ducklings, etc. Does a muskie eat a bass once every now and then? Sure they do? But have you ever seen a baby muskie? Bass eat the helll out of them too. It's a balance.

Thanks dude. They don't have much bearing on the boat. Muskies don't fight like you'd think. Granted they are scrappy and give you what you want and then some, but a long fight with long runs they do not. The only cool part about a small craft is how simple the fishing is, and the cool off the beaten path places you can get into without spending a fortune.

Found a little clear water today, and got out for a couple hours after I got my yard work done.

It is a Gheenoe. Its just a standard 13' classic. Found it on Craigslist for 250$. It's been a good little boat. I have an LT10 on order that is due sometime this month.

I had a 15.5’ model for years. Was great when my kids were little.
