I use a Fobus with a 1911, and a Tege with an M&P40 Compact. The Tege locks and releases perfectly.

Neither cost more than $30. Both are all day comfortable.

I have a Galco for my G17. Mostly winter carry.
I can’t remember the model number offhand but it is black leather with a plastic paddle and adjustable tension and cant.
It’s also a top-break.
I gave about $90 bucks for the thing 20 years ago and have never regretted it.
It is very comfortable and you hardly know it’s there. I wouldn’t think twice before buying another.

I have several Simply Ruggeds. They hold the guns securely and are very versatile: IWB, OWB, crossdraw, Tanker rig (Chesty Puller. 3” J-frame, 4” L-frame, CZ 75. One Tanker harness takes them all.

I use a Safariland 6378 during the cooler months and sometimes at work. Same ALS device as my duty holster.

I’ve got several Fobus models I use.

I've looked at the Vedder paddle holster. I like the sweat shield option.
