My mother hated colored people. She grew up in Camp Logan, where the blacks soldiers killed people in 1917. It’s ironic she died on this day 52 years ago.
Google Camp Logan riots if you haven’t heard of this. Nineteen soldiers were hung, 41 given life sentences

About 40 years ago, I remember they used to have swimming competitions on Lake Mexia. I believe they were sponsored by the sheriffs dept.
