My grampa called the other day to tell me that he had a bad rat problem under his deck.It seems that they came up from the river and were going after the bird seed that the birds were knocking on the ground.he and my grandma are birdwatchers and they have alot of bird feeders(at least a dozen)he asked me to shoot them with my pellet gun I thought he was nuts!!I have heard alot of you guys say that you use to shoot them in the dumps and stuff,so I grabbed the rws,a tin of peelets and went to his house.I have never in my life ever seen anything like that they were were hundreds of them,in the middle of the day no less!!!!!My arm got sore from cocking the gun.My uncle,my father, his friend and I shot an recovered 59 rats in 2 days of shooting. This is so far the only hunt I have never been on with my dad(he had a riot) he has never hunted I am hoping that he will start now,I know how you guys feel about hunting with your old man now.Who knows how many went down the holes,we have since poisoned them the best we could to get them away from my gramps house but that had to be the most fun I have had in a long time.Just thought I would share my first rat hunt with you guy see ya later

One year I was the first in elk camp to get an animal. It was a mouse, we baited him with cheese as found droppings on our camp table and knew he was around. I got him with a 22 in the dark by the light of the lantern. I attribute this success to my night hunting experience with hogs. We had to track the mouse though. Three of us, were standing over where he was shot, looking for him. He ran about a foot, but we finally found him. <P>Did you get any pictures of the rats, I've never seen that many at once?
