I got to thinking (Dangerous) about the unemployment problems and ways to help solve them. I have been retired for about five years and have been enjoying it very much, I don't need to go back to work after 55 years of gainful employment, but I thought about maybe taking a part-time job someplace that I might enjoy, like a gunshop or a Hardware store, But, guess what! The Government will only allow me to make about 17K before they start taking away 50 cents for every dollar you make over the limit. If the Government really wanted to help the economy get back on track(Yeah, Right!) they would lift this restriction for, say, a trial run of 3 years. You could make any amount you can and it would not count against your SS benefits. This might help get things moving again and there is probably a lot of seniors out there that could use the extra income! What you would get would be,
Employees that know how to get to work on time. Know how to count change. Know that being at Work does not mean playing on your phone all day long. Have their own transportation. Know how to dress appropriately. Know how to be courteous and attentive to customers. Know how to take some initiative. Know how to take orders and execute them. Don't believe that the world rotates around them and their personal problems. Know how to wash their hands and practice workplace hygiene.
All Seniors are not ideal employees, but most of the sorry ones are not going to want to rejoin the workforce anyway! While I think this could be a partial cure, I am under no illusion that the government would actually consider this proposal, it makes sense. But, Hey! It is worth discussing.
Lee.

I’ve a better idea, cut of all bennies to otherwise able-bodied adults who are on the dole! No work no food. Know work know food.

The idea of that is to keep people from taking early social security. Once you hit 65 (or is it 66), you can work all you want with no SS penalty.

Lets start with just a mandatory review of every disability case in this country. See if they are still "disabled by depression" or whatever. Disability has very quickly become the new welfare, and it's a racket.

It’s not rocket science. People are making more money than they have in their lives to stay home. Of course they don’t want to work.
Decades of voting for the lesser of two evils has gotten us just that.....

Disability......yup some people scam it. Emotional disability is a biggie, gal my ol lady worked with had 2 of 3 kids on it. Tried for 3rd, but school report said he was functional......kids mom went nuts.
Wanted 3 for 3 at home.
Some folks think.my kid out w me is totally normal ( not disabled ). Shes smart, pretty and smiles. She also has her PT folks work her like shes 80 yrs old, she has to park it at home a few hrs every other day to infuse ( has port )... and has other stuff off and on due to her genetic condition.
Yup, looks normal. Some people.on social.media.said she isnt disabled, since she can walk ( some days ).
She barked back, disabled.....not paralyzed.

Original use of unemployment I could agree with. Temporary assistance until you can get back on your feet, now it's a disgrace and a full time job for some.
I hope all states cut the extra fed funds and force most back to work. Some did and I applaud it, unfortunately dead beats here in MI will still get it.
