Do you have better pictures of the action? For instance a close up of the left hand side.
Right off hand I would say it's an FN action just by your description.

It has no markings on the left side of the action. Only proof stamps and 243 on the barrel Also says chrome vanadium steel on the barrel. Not much more

I will add that it has engraved trigger guard and floorplate with no notch in the receiver for stripper clips. I know nothing about mausers and it was sold to me advertised as likely an early Parker hale. I know you Mauser guys have a lot of knowledge about the guns. So I thought maybe y’all could help out a novice

Yep this ^ Commercial Dumoulin action; nice square bridges and three-position Model 70 style safety. A little rough and often in need of refinement, and can be challenging to find rings to fit the dovetailed bridges, but solid and definitely worthy of a good custom.

It’s a fn deluxe scroll engraved Mauser. It might have an FN Deluxe bottom metal unit, but that receiver says Dumoulin right on it. It’s not an FN. That being said it’s a nice rifle and you could probably get $5-700 depending upon the barrel details and if you come across someone who really wants it.

Swampokie in an hour or so I will post some pictures of my Parker Hale Mauser. Then we can compare the two rifles.

This looks just like mine. Is it a 1200? Nice rifle!
