I have a Savage 111 F prefix 7x57 with the thick bottomed synthetic stock and would like to replace with a different Bell & Carlson, or similar. My question is will the magazine box fit other style stocks or is it particular to the “fat belly” original stock? Thanks in advance.

I don’t know. Unfortunately most guys here might say the best way to change a stock on a 110 would be by replacing it with a 99. And I’m not knocking the 110, it’s just that it’s older brother rules the roost here. However there are a couple guys in the know on the 110.

I believe all of the long action internal box magazines have the same perimeter dimensions, (maybe slight variations in corner bends), with different followers. Exception when they are for the belted mag cartridges, those boxes are bigger. The attachment of the box to the action changed over time, and I suspect that the vertical dimension had some variations depending on which stock they originally came in.

Your 21st century factory plastic beaver-tail stock probably will accommodate a taller magazine box than a 1958 factory featherweight stock. Ask the Bell&Carlson folks if Your specific model will fit their stock, I'm sure they'll have heard the question before.

Likely answer: "some fitting required"
