She is always on the hunt.

Almost too much drive at times. Once she has something on her mind I cannot get her away until we kill the critter.

Ingwe-San,

I've a number of rifles for which I have searched for at least 10 years. The major impediment is finding them at a price I am willing to pay! At 70, I may assume room temperature at any time, but when I find one that I have lusted after, if I can come up with the "scratch" I go for it. That is a Merkel 141, which is on a 28 gauge frame, chambered for the 30-06 Springfield. It has double triggers ( front trigger is a set trigger) which unlike my single trigger 8mm Mauser, one can select which barrel to fire first. The single trigger version has an inertia reset, and so the right barrel fires every time it is loaded and cocked. One has to fire the right barrel first before the left can be cocked and actuated. Not that I have a problem perforating one porker with two shots.

or even three porkers with two shots!

Merkel 141, 8mm Mauser, Rimmed, single trigger

It is almost impossible to find a 141 chambered in a medium bore cartridge with the adjustable regulation feature. Sakohunter264 saw this at the Shilen swap-meet and alerted me, and grabbed it. If it had not been for him I would not have had the pleasure.

BTW, Happy Birthday Sir!

Ya!

GWB

PS: Even more cool IMHO, it is regulated for 180 gr. Remington Cor-Lokts, of which I have an ample supply!

Mr Knife maker, this is from Friday afternoon, in the Elk forum.

Been given the go ahead, by Deb, to fish Saturday morning & get to work after lunch.

Love that lady.

Of course, it could be that she's picking up her new car, Saturday morning !

Lease expires on her 2017 Ford edge, next week. Don't want a new 1 with the sewing machine ecoboost engine.

Decided she wanted a fully loaded Subaru Crosstrek, so hitching a ride with friends, to the City (4 hours away) to pick up at noon.

This also played a big part, I'm sure !

Paul - I'm heap big jealous of all those 'eyes. Megan and I went up north for four days of fishing, first day out the outboard would not start. I had test run it three days before we left and it ran like a top. We had to make due with playing the wind and using the trolling motor. We managed, but it wasn't ideal. Just ordered up a slug of parts for the outboard. Hope Deb likes the new ride. My mom and sister both drive Subaru's and love them.

Cheers Jeff !

Yeah, Deb's smiling, loves her new chariot.

On Saturday, we couldn't get a bite, trolling jigs & minnows.

Game changer was super slow wind drift & vertical jigging.
