Does anyone have current lead times for CMMG?
I ordered a Banshee SBR the beginning of February. At the time that I ordered they had a notice of a 20-24 week back order. It’s been about 20 weeks now and I hoped to touch base but they aren’t taking phone calls and emails are returned with a generic message stating something to the effect that orders will ship ASAP but no lead times are given. The website no longer list lead times either.
My card isn’t being ran until it ships I’m not worried about the order but it seems impossible to get information from CMMG via phone, email, or website on current lead times or how my order is progressing. I’m interested if anyone else has some recent orders and how long it took to ship.

I have no clue about wait times but whatever it is, it'll be worth the wait! CMMG is as good as it gets imo. Good luck!

I guess every company has its lemon: Recently, A club member of mine had to send a CMMG back because there was something wrong with it. I'd have to get full details, but he was pretty irritated.
I try to stick with the basics, they do so well. Nothing fancy mind you, just plain jane will get it done with style. You want to see an animal drop right now? Shoot him in the ear hole. BSA MAGA

Liked a CMMG lpk I used awhile back. But, this is weak - absolutely unacceptable CS. Taking it as a heads up. Does anyone have current lead times for CMMG?

I'd like to ask him more about what was wrong. We've had an influx of new members and most of them shoot AR's. I was under the impression that CMMG was very good, but he definitely has a bad taste in his mouth for them.. Sounds like the OP is having issues with their CS, as you did.. Pretty unacceptable.

Years ago I ordered two CMMG AR's.
Both were identical. Basic M4's to be used for heavy calling coyote hunting.
One was great. It was MOA out of the box. The other wouldn't shoot well... More of a pattern.
Fixed it myself. Ordered a free float handguard, and reset the headspace, and gassed it properly. It turned out to be a fantastic shooter after that. Probably had 4000+ rounds down the tube when I changed the upper.
All things considered, I don't think I'd pay what they want, price-wise for another one.

I ordered a Banshee 200 in .40 on April 8, and was notified yesterday by the dealer that they told him it would be shipped in about two weeks.

Thanks for the comments fellas. I didn’t see any responses for a few days and then it kind of blew up a little bit. CMMG did reply a few days ago with an actual non form letter email. They wouldn’t provide any kind of a timeline but they did apologize for the extended waits and reconfirmed that they have my order and are working 24/7 to fill orders. I would have liked a more solid estimate or even a guesstimate but I ordered it as an SBR so it’s going to be a while before I take possession regardless.

Yeah. I wouldn’t call it stellar customer service. Basically “sorry we’re late with your order, we’re swamped you’ll get it when you get it.”

Is that typical? I ordered a 7.62x39 rifle back in October and I haven’t heard anything yet. I ordered from a local gun store who had to order from a distributor, who had to order from the manufacturer. I feel like 9 months is a long time.

Just FYI... As I wrote above, I was notified by my dealer on 7/12 that my Banshee 200 was two weeks out. Then I got an e-mail on 7/14 that it was in. Picked it up on 7/15 but haven't had time to shoot it.
When I originally ordered it in April, I was told to expect a six-month wait.

I had a 6.8 that didn't work well with my reloads, but I figured that was my reloads and the learning curve on reloading that cartridge. I'd probably buy another.

I spoke with my local gun store manager this morning. He had just gotten off the phone with his distributor, who is in contact with CMMG representatives regularly. The distributor says that CMMG isn’t getting many orders for certain guns, so they’re simply just not making them. I had a MK47 Resolute 100 on order, and apparently it’s just an unpopular rifle so CMMG hasn’t put any time or resources into making them.

Sorry to hear that men. I hope you get it in less than 6 months. Be Well, RZ.
