5. After we left OIF 1 in march 04.
Donnie dumbfugg went to the FOB concept in late 04 early 05
In other words prior to that we lived in our area of operations in platoon combat outpost.
We owned our ground 24/7 with unpredictable patrol cycles.
The neighborhoods were ours.
The city was ours.

Soon as the hole up inside the wire policy on fobs and leave to do a presence patrol schit started.
We lost that war at that point.....
And haji owned the ground then 24/7....

I thought the Iraq war was BS back then, my view hasn’t changed. Rumsfeld was cog in the industrial war machine that killed millions for no good reason.

I've voiced my opinion of the man from my view from the outside looking in all those years, while many I served with were chewing some of the same ground as some of you here. The warriors I converse with held Rumsfeld in high regard and many had personal contact with the man when he was SecDef. I was serious anti-government and bitter for many years after I got out so my opinions of the man and his cronies are way tainted, but I stand by them as I feel we should have gone scorched earth on the entire region or not gone at all.

I voted for and supported Bush and Rumsfeld at the time. I was wrong. Very wrong. Hindsight's a bitch.

Gore and Kerry were bad news on so many fronts, but in hindsight the Patriot Act and the DHS are probably the worst things to happen to this country in it's entire history. The republicans were the party of patriotism and both the Patriot Act and the DHS were sold on patriotism.
