Anybody here actually use one?

Looking at reviews it seems they are loved or hated not much in between.

I have a Yamaha 2400 that works fine but its at its limits when we have long outages (hurricanes).

We've added another freezer this year as well.

I'm looking for an additional/backup unit that won't break the bank.

We don't camp any more so they just sit until the next storm comes along.

TIA

I've got one. It's a great price for an inverter with that much power. I replaced the spark plug with an NGK platinum, which made it run smoother. I'd also recommend changing the oil after the first 20 minutes of running.

It's been trouble free, always starts easily.

Thanks for the reply's, walked around and checked plates on all the stuff we need to run. Best I can tell what we have now will almost max out the Yamaha.

I figure if I can keep the freezers, refrigerators and a small window unit running my wife will not run off to a motel. Figure just one week of motel cost would pay for another less expensive generator.

Horror freight has a 10% discount going this weekend. Maybe out the door $900.

I've pissed away way more than that on less.

Watch for China Freight to run them on sale . I had the coupon and paid just a little over $550.

Works great to power my camper . Wish I could get another one at that price . They quit sending me the coupons .

Have almost 50 hrs on my Predator 3500. We use it camping and runs everything in the camper without a hiccup! I also can hook it to the house and run the furnace, fridges, freezers and a few outlets easily! They are very good on gas and I highly recommend Non Eth. if you can get it! They are also very quiet. I changed the oil at 8 and 25 hrs with VP small engine 10W-30 synthetic and replaced the factory spark plug with an NGK. There are also some videos on YouTube about drilling holes in the sides for airflow but don’t do it as it takes air from the inlet that cools the electrical components in the front of the unit.

If you take care of them, I believe they will last a long time! I have recommended them to a few friends and all are happy so far!

My Honda 3000 weighs at least that, I’d guess. 2 or 3 times the price as well.
If it goes tits up, I’d likely replace it with that same Predator unit. Only heard good things about them. The General 3300 looks good as well.

I think you will be pleased with the purchase!

Give us a review after you’ve used it a while!
