Oh. Wait. I don't have one... DETROIT (AP) — Toyota has reversed itself and now says its political action committee will no longer contribute to the Republican legislators who voted against certifying Joe Biden's presidential election victory.
The move by the Japanese automaker comes after a social media backlash over the contributions, including threats to stop buying the company's vehicles.
“We understand that the PAC decision to support select members of Congress who contested the results troubled some stakeholders,” Toyota said in a statement Thursday. "We are actively listening to our stakeholders, and at this time, have decided to stop contributing to those members of Congress who contested the certification of certain states in the 2020 election.” https://finance.yahoo.com/news/toyota-changes-stand-halts-donations-204902926.html

This for the short term. Just wait until favorable Republican legislation affecting Toyota is being bandied about in the halls of Congress, you can bet the Japs will start funneling the money again.

Also wait until the other 50% of the country tells Toyota they will no longer buy one because of their reversal.
Moves like this are a lose/lose proposition when the country is evenly divided.
Toyota vehicles are still some of the very best. They still get that right.

When my kids were little I'd say to something that was stupid: "Dumber than dumb.". And the littlest one would pipe up: " And that's pretty dumb."
Welcome to the dumber than dumb club Toyota.

Something is very wrong when companies become so political Right here is identifying the problem, but evidently they know something that the public doesn't know yet... Selling out to the Communist Chinese by the democRats, they are evidently wanting to be on the winning side... Toyota has also been supplying radical Islam and the Talaban with Trucks.... even ones built in the USA for a decade or more. Things like this indicate that there is a conflict coming soon in this country, by that I mean Armed conflict... Warning sign like the rats leaving the ship....

Nothing but kabuki theater... The Japanese are in it for the the long game. They have been contributing to politicians, decision makers, and influencers since they landed in CA in the 1950's. There are multiple ways to "contribute" to political entities. Stop putting money in a PAC. Dial up the scholarships, grants, donations via other avenues. Not even a speed bump for Toyota.

lets see government motors, Ford's LGBTQ campaign.... which truck can you buy ? That's about what I was thinking. They all going Woke, it seems. Just shows how international business actually is. Look at Nike, saying they're going with the Chicoms, their biggest and best customer. NBA not far behind. So, how many U.S. companies are actually U.S. companies ?? DF

Something is very wrong when companies become so political You mean like letting corporations participate in the political process in the first place?

Therein is the main issue. What company would want to risk half it's customer base by pissing it off? Ought to be taught in Business 101..

Ya, sucks, ... I have to have insurance and I have to use banks too.
I still make my buying choices when I can based on politics. No doubt about it.
