The military absolutely will NOT go against the government. Was topic of discussion when I was in - that was the conclusion. Topic of discussion right now with family I know in - same conclusion.
You may have individual units/soldiers etc not toe the line but as an organization, if DC says roll tanks down mainstreet Anytown USA - they will.

The Constitution does not allow our military to be used against the citizens under any circumstance. On the other hand it does allow the Military to step in to subvert an out of control government. So if it's Civil War then what are the government officials going to do for food and lodging? They can't stay cooped up in the Castle forever. Just asking for a friend.

The Constitution does not allow our military to be used against the citizens under any circumstance. On the other hand it does allow the Military to step in to subvert an out of control government. So if it's Civil War then what are the government officials going to do for food and lodging? They can't stay cooped up in the Castle forever. Just asking for a friend. The Constitution has been side stepped enough that no one will ask or even notice when asked to do it again. NG troops at DC weren't there to go against non-citizens. Hint.

Damn right , I lived in military towns 35ish years and had many military friends - Steve is 100% correct . A while back someone said ''there won't be nearly as many young folks joining the miitary'' because of the way the country is headed .MontanaMarine - said '' let the economy take a downturn and the recruiters offices will be full'' .< --FACT .. People seem to believe that the people who join the military do it because they want to serve this country , some do , but it's not nearly as many as folks here seem to believe .

Okay, some loon on the left told me yesterday that Trump said he'll be president in August. I haven't seen anything on it, but their source was CNN so I'm doubtful. Has anybody else seen/heard him talk about being president by August?

Do not worry, nonsense and chaos of January 6th will never be repeated. The American Capital is protected by special units of the National Guard. In Russia equivalent force is called Felix Dzerzhinsky Division of National Guard under the Ministry of the Interior. The term National Guard is used because it sounds more benign to the natives. The Dzerzhinsky Division is there because not all military units or their commanders can be trusted.
