Just finished planting fall food plots with beets tubers and brassica's. Perfect timing too as it just started raining here. Weeded around our new substances chestnut trees and staked the fences dow around them. The honeysuckle and dam SD Russian olives are growing like crazy. Will need to trim the trails again before season opens. Hope everyone's summer is going well.

I got an acre and a half of brassica planted Saturday. That’s all I’m doing this year, other than mowing the existing clover plots. I hope to spend more time chasing Adirondack bucks this year. Tree stand hunting for farmland deer produces some nice results, but nothing is better than a day of chasing big woods bucks!

2 acres of corn in a while ago, 1 early plot of chicory and sugar beets. Deer are crushing the chicory. Sugar beets didn't fare too well probably till them underhand try something else

I got 9 acres of corn and beans in earlier. I’ll overseed thin areas and edges with brassicas this weekend. I’ll plant 4 acres of rye and clover/chicory Labor Day weekend. We don’t grow big antlers with our poor soils, but I’ll play hide and seek with 41/2 to 61/2 year old bucks most of the fall. We will have plenty of bears enjoying the corn, but they go nocturnal a day or two before the season opens. Anymore, I enjoy watching the wildlife enjoy our land as much as I do hunting. It means I’ll have a great season:)

Waiting a month and may try cereal rye, brassicas, and white clover in central KS. Hoping August sees some more rain there.
