I am bringing my 13 year old hunting buddy to the vet for the last time.
Man, we sure shared some adventures together.
For some reason, this one is triggering more allergies

Sorry to hear......got one that I hope can make it to 13 next Christmas.......hes really struggling to get off his perch and get moving....not looking forward to having to make the same decision.

Every time someone brings this up it makes me shed a tear. And then I think how lucky I was to of had some pretty good dogs throughout my life.

It does suck.
Can't look at a puppy and not see what the end will do to me again.
Where I live now would not be good for raising a dog so we are not going down that road again.

My current bud is now 11, and he treed a coon for me on Wednesday. Didn't come out of his kennel until noon today...... I've got a spot picked out for him on the farm where he can look out over where he used to chase coons, birds, cats and hang out with me. There'll be no trip to the vet, it'll be just him and I. I owe him that. But it will gut me for at least a week.
