Savage Model 99A chambered in 250 Savage. Very good condition. It does have some light light use marks on the wood and a few imperfections in the metal as expected in a rifle of this age. Bore is bright and rifle is tight and sound. I had my professional gunsmith, U.P. Hunters Gunsmithing in Powers Michigan, install a .5" Decelerator Pad, Locate and install swivel studs, shorten and crown muzzle right behind where the front sight was located, and use a filler in the dovetail for the rear sight. Rifle is accurate. Really no load development as I used a proven 250 load with a 87 grain Speer and shot a .75" 3 shot group. Stopped right there and went out and killed a coyote. This is what I consider to be about the perfect deer rifle for a new hunter or a veteran who knows just how great the 250-3000 performs. Reason for sale is the usuall as I'm consolidating my arsenal and I have another Custom chambered in the 250. $825 + actual shipping. Payment with Postal MO or Certified(Cashiers) Bank Check. Thanks for viewing my listing. Regards, Steve
However, I did have one that had a 1:14 twist. I don't know the story on that one, may have been an early one that Savage used an older barrel on? So it is best to check.
Bump, Offers considered. This is my last bump before cross posting or GB. Sweet handling rifle in a time tested chambering. Only trade I'd consider is a NF SHV 2-10 w/Illuminated reticle
