And what happens when the power goes down? Millions of Californians fire up less efficient more polluting generators burning fossil fuels.

You are giving the majority of Commyfornians more credit that they deserve.
To many here have only 2 days of food in their homes if that.
They rely on everyone else to get them Water , Electricity , Gas and look out if the toilet back up.
If the power went out for 2 days we will have mass panic and riots everywhere.

You even have to be prepared knowing who will be coming after your stuff when things go poorly for your neighborhood.

Says 10% hydroelectric, probably enough to go down at peak heat demand for AC to cause some wonderful rolling blackouts!!!

I wonder if the California environmentalist are still agitating to take out the O'Shaughnessy Dam on the Hetch Hetchy River. It's just the primary water source for the city of San Francisco..

Sounds like the "School of Hard Knocks" is about to start. Maybe a few will wise up and see that there is something very wrong with Cali's energy policies... naa... they won't learn a thing.

We'll see.
You always hear the sky is falling in one way ore another.
Out in the country, I don't think we'll have much to worry about.
Deep well, diesel generator, plenty of food. Lots of guns and ammo. Let the games begin!

They never learn anything after an Earth Quake why should they start now.
We have rolling black outs and people still do not have generators for their personal homes.
My Neighbor just had Solar Panels installed on his home that back feeds the Grid during the day and he still thinks that when the power go's down he will be A OK with power.
Of coarse when I asked him what kind of system they installed and how much his system puts out he could not tell me.
He is one of the good guys that hates the Dumbocrat machine in this State.
I asked because I am building my own system off grid.
Commyfornians go on living their lives trusting that every thing will be taken care of for them (Gooberment will do it)
