Artpro: Small or larger bolt face? Good luck in your quest. Hold into the wind VarmintGuy P.S.: Of ALL the arms and cartridges that Big Green has turned its back on I think discontinuing the XR-100 Rifle was one of their most PROFOUND mistakes! I currently own 6 (six) of them and each and every one of them shoots EXCEPTIONALLY well, for all factory, stock, Rifles!

Hi. I have to agree. I've owned a couple that I let slip away. Now I'm back in the hunt.

Mine are not for sale. Great gun as is, but also perfect for custom chambering. I had two rebarreled/chambered, to 22ppc and 20 vartarg. They are tack drivers.

the stock on the XR100 is not a standard SA 700 stock, not sure what would fit and be a single shot.

Tonyb: I thought the "XR-100" action/Rifle was based on the Remington XP-100 "pistol action? Then maybe the Model 7 is also based on the XP-100 pistol action as well - not much into the Model 7's. Here is a quote I found in a couple of places online regarding the origin of the XR-100. "The Remington XR-100 Rangemaster single shot target rifle is based on the XP-100 pistol action". Don't know for sure but that meshes with what I have been told, read and compared (I have some XP-100's and a customized XP-100 action). BTT Hold into the wind VarmintGuy

Hi VarmintGuy. Same action length, and the bolts interchange. As you know, there is a much smaller diameter screw in the back of the XP100 action. This screw is standard size in the XR100 action. The model 7 and XR100 have the small mid location screw for the ADL trigger guard, the XP100 does not have this provision. Other than those differences, they will both sit in each other’s stocks. Hope all of that makes since?
