Hate to hear about the loss of a beloved pup. They are with us for too short of a span.

Here at the house the kiddos nearly lost their cat the other day. They always wag him around and love on him every day, treating him like an infant (first cat they've been allowed to have). Wife backed over him in the driveway with the kids in the car. Best we can figure, he just didn't care that the car was running and was laying next to the tire, underneath the car. Sidewall must have grabbed him because it pulled off both his collars and nearly crushed his head. Old Zeke was just laying limp in the driveway. Vet said it didn't look good, but I'll be danged if he didn't get sent home after a few days. Couldn't close his mouth for a while, drooling everywhere, two legs didn't want to work, just pitiful. Little turd is now at 95%, playing and running and eating hard food again. Probably would have killed a person, but cats do get those nine lives. He'd been hit by another car before we got him. Hit in the head of course.

Better be tough if you're gonna be dumb.

I've been enjoying this thread very much, up til I saw Renegades post. So sorry for your loss, losing a dog hurts as much, sometimes more, truthfully, than losing someone.

Definitely been more of the good guys posting on this one, best thread I've seen on the Fire in a while.

I'm done for the day guys..
You all have a nice day.
I mean that.

You got me again but I’m so sorry for your loss. I know he was a good dog and I know he was lucky to have you. It’s just not fair.

Well scheidt,

Honestly, I'm just glad you were there for him at the end.

No other way to put it, I'm stunned.

You've done your best for them all. Take pride in that. I'm pretty sure they're telling their doggie buds in the great beyond what a good life you gave them.

My eyes are leaking, I must find another thread.

Thank goodness I think the last of the old trucks around here have been either converted to dump or retired Rio. COOP doesn’t even have a lift anymore for the front wheels of the old fixed bed rigs.

I mucked out my share of bins with a scoop as a teenager and I won’t do it again. Possibly the most miserable work on earth. Builds character though I guess!

One of these guys has cut a lot of wheat with an old All Crop Allis pull behind combine with a 4’ header. They both share the same name, one of them is 5 and the other is 89. Neither of them would miss harvest time. [Linked Image from i.postimg.cc]

TheKid,

I used to go down and work the wheat harvest in the summer when I was younger. I lived in Norman and after I got outta the 9th and 10th grade, I’d go down to Grandfield and work at those big CoOp grain elevators there. I had family who lived in Grandfield so I had a free place to stay throughout the entire wheat harvest. That was about 45 years ago...!
