Apparently the Advertising Maven who try to direct our thoughts, habits, and opinions have decided to curtail the use of the word "Diet" in describing their products.
Seems the soda barons have decided to re-brand their offerings as "Zero Sugar". What difference that is expected to make is beyond me..
Well, I don't normally drink soda but I had a few recently and I can tell you that Dr. Pepper Zero is a helluva lot better than Diet Dr. Pepper, but it does contain aspartame.

I think the main difference is that the zero sugar ones do taste more like the regular sodas do, and they also seem to be using different sweeteners to get there, but not sure if that's better for us or worse. Splenda and stevia are better but usually they aren't using those.
For instance diet coke in my opinion tastes horrible and didn't even try to taste like coke does. But the zero sugar coke is a lot better and does do a good job as a stand-in for real coke flavor.
Aspartame is worst for you than sugar. Look it up. It is another chemical.
I kinda' figured. Better to not drink soda at all.
