Finally got my paws on the gun. It sure seems nice to me, but I am not a real judge. I really like the action of the trigger.
My 10mm dies are still a couple weeks out, so I pulled the 10mm barrel and spring, and set it up for 38 Super. By Noon tomorrow I will have 500 rounds loaded with 115 gr Berry's RNHB over 5 gr of Universal in new Starline brass.
It's a pretty light load, but it will do for practice and to learn the pistol.

Gun Shows are almost as comical as boat ramps in the Spring.

If it works well and shoots well, the name on the frame is insignificant. I think you'll have more fun with the Super parts installed than the others, but that is for you to decide (I also have .45s and a 10mm). The 9mm I've been shooting is fun, but it's not a Super. That load you mentioned is pretty minimal, I think I'd up it to 5.5gr., just to have a bit more zip. No matter, it'll be for you to decide, but I think it will be a favorite without much effort at all. They can be a heckuva lot of fun.

You were right about the load. Empties eject right at my feet, when they eject.
12 rounds fired into three inches at thirty feet. That is all I can do with any handgun without a rest. Three failure to feed, two failure to eject.
It needs more zip, or a lighter recoil spring. It is so comfortable to shoot, I will add zip. Make it an actual Super instead of a light 9.
Hogdgons Annual says 5.5 gr is a max load with a 115.
Sierra says 5.9 is minimum with Universal, with 6.7 as max with jacketed bullets.
I will try another dozen at 5.5, and then see how she runs with 6 gr.

Yes, it runs well with a little more zip.
115 gr Berry's RNHB, 6 gr of Universal ejects well, recoil is neglegible. 6.5 gr Universal is still very comfortable to shoot. 7.0 gr Universal. In Handloader a couple years ago Brian Pierce clocked this load at over 1400 fps in the same make and model pistol. I ran three mags through the gun. It is easy to shoot, but you know it has some power. It rocks the steel target at 50 yds.
Plans are now to run it at 6.7 gr Universal until I get some 147 gr bullets to work with.
Absolutely thrilled with the gun!

Outstanding! I knew you'd like it after you fool with it a bit. It's pretty hard NOT to like them if you give them a chance.

I got to shoot the 10mm barrel today. 180 gr Berry's Flatpoint over 6.5 gr Universal with Rem LRP. It is a joy to shoot. Very comfortable and easy to bring back on target. 90% of rounds landed in a six inch circle at 25 paces.
Only downside, is chasing empty brass after fifty years of shooting bolt rifles, single shot rifles, and revolvers.
I fired the first two rounds from outside the covered range. The brass landed on the roof. CRAP! LOL.
So I moved back five yards and got under the roof.
I have some 200 gr cast flat nose coming. That will be the nest trial. 200s at 1200 fps over Longshot.
I scored two new Kimber 10mm mags at the LGS yesterday. The gun came with the original Kimber mag. I ran each of the three mags through the gun twice. Absolutely flawless operation.
This one, and the S&W 657 Mountain Gun. The kids will have to fight over who gets to pry them from my cold dead fingers.
