I am sure this has been asked and answered, but if so I can't find it.
We've all seen variable power scopes that have no, or very little, change in eye relief over the power range, while other can vary up to almost an inch. What is it about the ones with little or no change that is different from those with "variable" eye relief?
Thanks
RM

I am thinking that is a question for Mule Deer. Taking a Swag at it. To get constant (or almost constant) eye relief, you're robbing Peter to pay Paul. So to get that constant eye relief, you probably have to comprise some where, bigger ocular diameter, eye box generosity or field of view. I am sure John can give us a better answer. RJ

RM When I first purchased my Bushnell 6500 4 1/2-30X50 and told folks here I was told that was not possible. Its eye relief doesn't seem to change. If there is a compromise, I sure don't mind it.
