Putting extracted honey supers on a beehive to let them clean them up, at dusk, while wearing shorts is a REALLY bad idea.

My dad had bees for awhile. He told me that if a bee came close I should stand still. Well one day a bee started circling me and I stood still until it landed on right below my eye and stung me. That was a big mistake! One eye was completely closed because of swelling and the other almost closed. I learned my dad’s advice was wrong, I should have run.
Later my dad told me that his bees were unhappy because their queen died!

99.99% of the time, slapping or swiping at bees or wasps is the wrong thing to do. You risk angering it. If you just stand still, the bee will soon lose interest in you and fly away on its own. That's true even if it lands on you. Bees don't sting things at random; it's a defense mechanism. Some wasps and hornets are much easier to anger than others, however, and can sting if you are merely too close to their nest.

Putting extracted honey supers on a beehive to let them clean them up, at dusk, while wearing shorts is a REALLY bad idea. Lol been there, done that. Everything is all hunky dory and they're your little bee buddies until you rattle their cage at bedtime. Next thing you know they're crawling up your shorts trying to get to your ponderosa on one side and your wiggles and bits on the other and you're just trying to seat the supers and gtfo while doing the bee step boogey and wishing you could inject smoke down your britches as your gently high-step it outta their AO. You find our just how tender the inside of your thighs truly are. I tend-to whelp too so my legs swell if they get too many good pops-in ... I've got one hive that especially does not like me screwing around with them at dusk. Kind funny how different hives have different personalities.
What you think about, you do ... what you do, you become. In a nation where anything goes ... eventually, everything will. We're almost there.

One of my buds keeps some hives and he has said that when he is working with them with his protective gear on the bees will find any gap in the suit. But he said the worst thing is that they tend to nail him on the tip of his nose where the netting contacts his nose. 😳🐝
