Thanks for the update. I'm a little surprised to see the velocity under 2600. I was thinking Staball might produce some faster velocity. Though I know velocity isn't the more important factor.

Hopefully, your 308 and 270 grouped well for you. Hunting season is not too far off.


.308 is good to go with Varget and the 270 Win load is with IMR4831. I’m happy with both.

I'm planning to use it in .375 Ruger but only after I've used up some other powders.

I use the Staball powder with my 338-06 Ackley. My rifle is a Remington model 30 with a 26in Benchmark barrel. I use a hornady 225sst with 66gr of Staball. My velocity sets at 2900fps. I haven’t encountered pressure signs with this powder. It’s a little dirty on the necks, but it shoots good and has easy extraction.
