Dealer I know has one in stainless steel. It is really nice looking and he wants 1295 for it less taxes, NIB . Is it worth the money? I went over it pretty well and the only thing I found was a heavy trigger(minor minor detail). It has an 8 digit serial number Thanks

I’d do it if you like it. Sounds like a looker.

Probably a good chance it’ll be fine as it comes. Doing the trigger and lug is something I’ve come to expect with about any rifle these days anyhow.

Going to pass on it because it is a short mag. If it were a 300 wm, 7mm or even 06 it would be coming home.

I actually prefer them over the 300WM and 7mm rem mag. However, For a very late classic, it is way over priced. I would not give that much for it. One thing to keep in mind about some of the winchester classics chambered in the WSM is some of them had out of round chambers from over torqueing the barrel upon assembly. I have had quite a few WSM Winchester classics and never had an issue with this, but have heard it happened more than you'd think.
I try to stick with the basics, they do so well. Nothing fancy mind you, just plain jane will get it done with style. You want to see an animal drop right now? Shoot him in the ear hole. BSA MAGA

What should it sell for ? It's NIB, would be tough to find something else with better wood if I were going to buy it. I have heard the oval chamber stories as well.

Ive seen rifles like that sit on the shelves for a long time. It would probably sell quicker at the $1,000.00 price point. Theres not a huge draw to the last NH rifles built. In the last few years of operation, they were known to have qc issues.

Was this one of the RMEF guns? I don’t believe I’ve seen a NH ss supergrade (non CS) which wasn’t.
Either way, not a common offering. Probably not out of line on price.

Nothing wrong with the 300 WSM.
It was the best of the bunch of all the WSMs
