Fellow looking for a bait clicker Round Ambassadeur reel in the want adds reminded me how much I like the old classic Ambassadeurs. both the ribbed and smooth rimmed two knob styles. I do not have a early Record marked one but I believe one is transition reel made about 1957.

The maroon and red ones he bass fished in Cuba with and have the same salt and pepper line on them. The 3rd was a later model black one. I also have his old Shakespeare President reel and one of his steel rods with a cork handle.

I knew there had to be a few people on here that had them. Fishing gear when I was a kid in the 1970s was actually a lot more expensive than it is now. A plain Red 5000 was between 20-30$ The hot new 5500C was over 50 bucks.

Awesome collection. I might have an old Record marked one or two somewhere, if you are looking for one. Pls PM me, if yes.
Thanks

Coolio. (is that slang?)
Nice assortment.
I think I've just got one, a 5000 (?) silver like the ones on the top shelf right.
Have caught a lot of fish on that one in the past. Given to me by a long time friend a long time ago.
