I understand why Larry likes to visit here, what a wonderful group of people. Larry arrived safely in Alaska last night and so far there has been no changes in Heathers condition. I can't tell you how much your support and prayers mean to us. And w/toons03 offer (still pinching myself) I will soon be able to join Larry & be there to offer whatever support I can. I may need to call someone for a ride from the airport to the hospital if the offers still stand from the Anchorage folks.

I am truely humbled by your caring and kindness,
Sherry

Sorry for the lapse, but I just now caught this thread.

Please relate my Family's well wishes to you and yours. Fingers are crossed and though I'm quite a spell from anchorage I'd be happy to help in any way that I could.

Positive thinking is a powerful thing and you have mine. Best to all.................

Sherry -

Your email addy is getting kicked back and the cellular is going straight to voice mail...I will be home all night and if you want I can just set the pass for you tonight I just need how your name reflects on your Texas Drivers License. You can check the flights at CO for which ones you want to go out on tomorrow - as relayed earlier it is stand by but most of them look pretty good. If you get stuck in Houston gimmie a holler and I will put you up for the night at my humble abode. The flights look good so far so if you can at least post here then I can follow your instructions as far as name spelling and flights you want to travel out on etc. and I will post your confirmation number on line as well. It is easy to travel just check in at the ticket counter with the confirmation number and from there the agent will finish getting you settled in for the flight. My work can reach me pretty much 24/7 so if all else call BaseOps and they can get me as well. Let me know asap as the reservation is a matter of pressing a few keys. TLee's son traveled over a year ago and had no trouble whatsoever with it so let me know.

Mel

Mel,

I just tried your home number & left a message. I can't believe my work is giving me a hard time... doesn't look like I'll be able to go after all. I'm so upset about this but since I'm the only one working right now I can't jepordize my job.

I talked to Larry and they are going to start bringing Heather out of the 'drug induced' coma & bringing her body temp back up. Guess this was due to the brain swelling. Dr's stated that they need her concious to try and determine the severity of her injuries. Dr's told him she wasn't out of the woods yet but they were happy w/how she was doing today (swelling was more stable) and that she is a true fighter.

I'll keep you posted...
Sherry

Sherry,

Your family has our prayers too.

Don't know if you remember, but we had lunch in Austin about two years ago.

When things get better, and it's time for Larry to return, make sure he books a flight that runs through Sitka!

The Samuelson family in Centralia, Washington will be saying bedtime prayers in a little more than an hour. My oldest daughter prays for a guy from this forum (Texas Hunter) every single night (I'm not kidding) and lifts him up to the Lord. She would be delighted to lead our family in prayer for Larry and his daughter.

Hi all,
Larry here, I thank each and every one of you from the bottom of my heart. I know I hadn't been here a lot lately but surely see why I need to keep in touch more!!! I am truely overwhelmed but not surprised as I have seen it here before. The true warmth of this campfire never diminishes. I am currently at Prividence Hospital in Anchorage and found a 'puter to use.

Here is how things are going right now:

Heather was taken to the local hospital in Soldotna Saturday afternoon after being struck by a car and it was Imediately determined that she needed to be medevaced to Anchorage for imediate emergency surgery. She has a fractured skull and a broken leg with some internal bruising of the abdominal area. They operated Saturday night to remove a blood clot from her brain and from what Heather's mother told me that went well. Sunday was a hard day here and I was told that it looked very grim at the time, even though the previous surgury went as planned. I arrived Monday to see Heather looking very bad but was praying and thankful that she was still alive. Tuesday looked a little better but was still told not to get our hopes too high. They also wanted to release here from the induced coma they were keeping here in to see if she was still there. the good news was revealed when she moved here leg at the sound of my voice!!! (She was still in there) We had some trouble that night and it got rather tense for a while but things worked out. Wednesday and Wednesday night were quite good and things continued to improve. Today (Thursday) we were told that she was looking good enough to try for surgery on her leg and possibly remove the "Bolt" (for measuring Cranial pressure) on Friday.

I want to thank everyone again and let you know I do beleive in the power of prayer and it is working!!! there are too many to thank individually right now but do want to make some acknowledgements.

Melodi:

Thank you for your offer and we are still looking into Sherry visiting sometime.

Waders:

Tell that little girl we love here and thank her for her prayers. I have seen the improvement in Tex since she has been praying for Mr. Widders and know God has been listening to her this time too. Just something abouth that connection between God and the little ones!

The Anchorage bunch:

I thank you all for your generocity and may just call all of you just to sit down a while and visit. I hope Art just keeps those hairy guys away. (grin)

Just one more thing. Sherry and I have been planning on moving up here for a while and did have plans to get re-located next year. Since Heather will be in the Hospital for at least a Month, need extended care afterward in Anchorage and my being between jobs just seems like God's message that I am needed here sooner. So Sherry and I have decided that I will be moving as soon as I return, which is as soon as I see my little girls eyes and know she is out of danger. Won't she be surprised!!! Thank you and may God bless all of you, including those I knew viewed this thread with a misty eye but didn't post.

A most outstanding update, given the gravity of the situation. It seems great fortune abounds in these parts and I'm glad that you got a slice of that pie!

Prayers and well wishes shall continue, for you and yours. Thanks for the update,it seems the ball is rolling in the best of directions.

Congrats on the good news.................
