Anybody know what one of these is worth?

I suspect many here don’t know what that is.

Unless you ever read Elmer Keith’s books.

Or collect Single Action Revolvers. 🤠

Don't know their actual value but 900 sounds good to me. In fact I was you I'd of probably had friction burns on my axx from pulling my wallet so fast. grins

I don't know why you haven't left to get it yet. That's a smoking deal for an actual Grover's #5

They were about $1200 new in the late 90’s, iirc.
I can’t remember who (CRS creeping in), but there’s a guy on here who has one and it makes me drool every time he posts a pic of it. He’s the resident expert on them.

EdM has one. I too would have tore my pocket off trying to get at my billfold for $900.

I seem to recall that there are revolvers out there touted as "Grover's Improved #5" which are just copies or mock ups.

Here is a Texas Longhorn Arms Grover's Improved #5 that sold at auction in May of this year for $5,463. https://www.rockislandauction.com/d...nc-grovers-improved-number-five-revolver

If that's a real deal revolver you could probably flip it for at least half again what you paid for it....

They regularly sell for $3K+. I think there is a 45 Colt, unfired in his wooden box on GB now for $4k+. I bought mine, a 44 Mag, from Mr. Grover new in 1994 for $985, retail then.

900 is a steal. They are well built and very accurate. Some had soft internals but this is easily cured.
Probably worth 3000+ in good condition

I got banned on another web site for a debate that happened on this site. That's a first

Always thought them to be ugly. And they look like they would be awkward.

But, they were supposed to be really well built, and I know $900 is a steal.
Given a chance, for that $$, I'd change "thought" to "in my experience".

If you decide to pass, then please let me know where it is and I'll get it.

They are not awkward and are Freedom Arms tight and as accurate.

Some if the guns do have soft internals. Every TLA I’ve owned has been sent to Alan Harton to have the internals checked before I shoot them. Yeh are wonderful pieces of engineering and are very accurate, $900 is a steal,

I have precisely ZERO interest in owning one for myself, but there is no way I would walk away from one at $900.
