a variety of different cheeses in each sandwich
not too much heat - not looking for burnt offerings here
good old no-nourishment whatsoever white bread - no fancy-assed crap that looks like particle board
lots of ketchup for dipping

Do you even still have to clarify that in 2021?
Sheesh. Always Dukes. Wife would get knocked out if she brought anything else into the kitchen.

Tomato? Bacon? That’s called a BLT without lettuce. Not a grilled cheese.

2 pieces of cheese? I’ve always heard one piece? WTF….

Duuuude. This is the "deluxe" recipe!

Do you have to unwrap the slices first? 😁

Ketchup on a grilled cheese? That’s nasty. Everyone knows ketchup is for hotdogs.

For real Dillonbuck. We had a big cookout for work once and grilled burgers, and we used grilled cheese sandwiches for the top and bottom buns.

They’re better with beer.

Wrapped cheese? It’s the campfire….. cheese snobs here hike to a
Monastery on top of a mountain in Italy where the monks sell a cheese aged for 20 years, sliced with the sword the Roman’s pierced Jesus side with.

I cannot tell you the thousands and thousands (perhaps millions?) of loaves of that I saw go by on the conveyor belts at the bakery I used to work at.

And yes, decent bread, I ate my share. If a loaf got a bit mashed going around a corner with the thousands of other loaves on the cooling conveyor, it was fair game!

I've heard of that method, but haven't tried it yet.
After they're browned just right, cover with a piece of aluminum foil, turn off the stove, and give the cheese a chance to get really melted.
And don't forget the Campbell's tomato soup!
Wife likes a slice of Jersey tomato on hers, but I'm a purist.
