Function tested a Benelli clone 12ga, 50 heavy trap loads. Recoil, not gas. That sucked. Put a few through the FAL.....its dead on at 50 yards ( wearing a DSA A2 rear sight now ) And now........dial this one to 1" high at 100. The bubba'd #3 in .219 DW. Gunkoted a silver Leupold sunshade and added Stoney Point knobs. Looks decent to me

Well, we’re waiting….at least I am. 😁 How did it shoot? Looks like a nice rifle to me. Great cartridge to mess around with.

Yeah anyhow!😁 Inquiring minds want to know! Looks like a swell rifle in a swell caliber.

Previous outing was 3 under half an inch at 100.
Think i put forend on too tight this go around and it strung vertically
Prev outing was 15 in lbs. Forgot my torque driver so said F it. Had checked the FAL and it was on, and function tested a Benelli clone 12 ga for fifty hot trap loads
It was hot n humid and I said screw it. Might mess w it tonight and head out tomorrow.
Its a McGowen bbl and had some crap oak flat bottomg homebuilt forend initially. So i got a tropical forend and sanded some. May need a little more.
Need to add stud and see what it does off a Harris. It was running 1 to 2" high in a straight line at 100.
I want a cluster again, 1" high.
Might try a Hicks

Forend put at 20 in lbs and went back out, on another 90 degree day.
Shot pops beater B in .22-250 first, w Norma 55gr factory. Trigger sucks but was able to do .75" off bipod and rear bag.
VariX iii 3.5-10x AO....duplex.
Then shot the .219 #3. Was close to half inch but not quite. Really like the CPC reticle on the m8 10X.
Both now set 1" high at 100. Proly oil the B up and put in back of safe. The #3 has a better trigger, good enough I dont even use the Canjar set feature.
Took my 700 in .243 w some 95 factory deer fodder. 3 touching w a 4th opening the group....still under an inch. Leupold Mark AR 4-12X AO....
Couple funky shots while zeroing. Typical Leupold BS. Man it gets old.
But its set now also 1" high at 100.
The vari X 3 and the Mark AR wasted a couple shots during zeroing. The old M8 was close and moved proper.
No, i didnt tap turrets. Would have thought the Mark AR and recoil of .243 in HS stock to be enough....nope.
Its good now. But im done buying Leupolds. Next scope gonna be a bit more expensive, if I upgrade.
