Awfully hard to say. Probably my Ballard with Stevens-Pope barrel for shear pizazz, or my 1950-vintage BSA International for shear utter accuracy. The as-issued M2 is another one whose whimpering would give me pause if I passed on it. None of the current crop of .22's so much as turn my eye, especially the plastic ones. I really don't care how well they shoot - they lack soul. 100yards, 5 shots: Book worthy. Beautiful, gnoahhh.

Sav-Anschutz 141 bought new in '66. First firearm. Killed more critters than any other rifle I own(ed). Still goes to dairy farms for pigeon control. Plus red squirrels on the feeder. Plus eieio......
Dumbarse kid cleaned the heck out of it from day one with multi-piece rods even. Against Dieter Anschutz' advice to the contrary. Still does 3/8" to 3/4" for 5 at 50 w/CCI SV or sub-hps.
Has a Leup VX2 3-9 EFR on it. So far no rattling. Sav-Anschutz 141M, Christmas gift from my mother, Christmas 1965. It has killed everything from red squirrels to deer. Currently wears a 3-9 Leupold EFR and still shoots an inch at 100 with Winchester and CCI 40 grain HP, a little better with 30 grain plastic tipped, a little worse with some stuff.

Rossi model 62 takedown. Got it for Christmas back in the late 70's. Was something my parents really could not afford at the time so it was a pretty special gift. Many a round pumped through it.

I have an old beat up and then reconditioned Winchester 9422 that would be hard to leave behind. Had a friend ceracoat it, then sanded the wood and painted it black. The finish is matt, still shows some pitting, wood still shows a few dings.

My old Winchester 75. Can't find the best ammo because it shoots everything so well.
I could wish a lot of things on my worst enemy but neuropathy ain't one of them.

My, some beauties here. Bitter cling, forever!
I got a Browning 52 sporter from my Dad. I hot-rodded the trigger for him and it was, and still is, a killer. Has a few dings, but man, so nice. It will only go after I do.

Tough choice. I would keep my 1960’s vintage Remington 511-X purchased with money I earned hoeing the weeds out of a cotton field, “chopping cotton”.
