I need a scope for my tikka T3X A1 which is very heavy and I need a bright clear scope for 300 yard shots and in for 1K or less. Suggestions!?
Fixed or variable. Has to have great clear glass.

jwp,
Yep, they're pretty darn good! In fact, they're what I generally use for dialing scopes, since they have the major features of more expensive scopes (super-accurate adjustments, built-in zero stop) along with VERY good optics, at a lower price.

Never used the tract scopes.
I do have a Zeiss v4 and like it.
Also the nightforce shv.

I’m a fan of the V4 & if I dialed while hunting a SHV would be high on my list.

I see SHV 4-14s in that price range frequently. Sounds like a 6x super chicken would cover you at 300 yards tho.

Yep, Nightforce SHV or Leupold VX5HD, I have both of these and they are both solid choices for your price point....Good luck....Hb

I'm a bit of a cheap skate when it comes to glass. Never paid over 400$ for anything on my hunting rifles. Have always relied mostly on vx2, vx3i leupolds or Burris FullFields. I just recently picked up a 2-10 tract toric and really like it so far. I've only had one range session with it but as of right now it seems to be an excellent scope. Had no issues dialing out to 300,400, then back to 100 and back out again. Always returned to zero and tracked to wherever I told it to.

Even at 3 to 4 times the price you can't beat'em
