We trained Afghan pilots but maintenance of things like modern aircraft such as the Super Tucanos was beyond them. They’re mostly illiterate after all. So, all the American maintenance contractors were pulled out months ago. Inside a week or two, all those aircraft would have been redlined or their high tech weapons inoperable. They would have been better off if we had rounded up a dozen or so T-6 Texans and fitted them with four or six .50 cal Brownings. They might have been able to keep those running and any air support would have been potentially decisive. Don't forget the 16 Aeritalia G222/C27As that we bought for $388,800,000 and sold for $32,000 as "scrap", a waste of $388.768,000 or 99.18% I can't believe that the USAF couldn't have found a better use for those 16 planes, even if we gave them to the USFS to be coverted to water bombers for fighting forest fires.

Then perhaps they can repay us for what we spent in their country.
More likely they will keep some of the Americans and sell them to us. The $9 billion of Afghan money in US banks and releasing all the GITMO prisoners to start. Then maybe a few extra billions. Remember the "Tractors for Cubans" campaign to free the Bay of Pigs prisoners that JFK abandoned in 1961?

I guess our higher powers didn't expect them to tuck tail and walk off the job so easily. No worries, that [bleep] will be broke down and useless in no time. Hell, our guys have to work their asses off to keep the mess running. That I find hard to believe. 20 years in theater, Biden and his cadre of advisers are on year 9 of leadership with Afghanistan as part of operations. They knew - didn't care, which in my mind is worse. This was done on purpose. Probably with that in mind. Now, does he send troops back in to continue the war after pulling govt contractors? The troops there have no support. Will the troops there be sacrificed to continue the war?

Every American in that country knew, 8 months ago, that it was all over and it was just a matter of time.

The Daily Mail is reporting that evacuation flights are now leaving nearly empty because people can’t get to and into the airport in time. People are saying it is taking two days to get through four or five checkpoints.

Sullivan said that the Taliban would ‘allow’ the civilians to get to the airport, but he couldn’t name a leader in charge of the Taliban. So, we are going to trust an army of leaderless Taliban fighters on American safety.

I hope the Taliban doesn’t go Fallujah on any Americans trying to reach the airport...If they do, Biden should be immediately ruined and replaced for lack of confidence. Kill a few to save many ? Woah, tough call. I’m more concerned that if the Taliban kills some Americans, Biden won’t do shît and will just say that resolving conflict is best done through negotiations. Every time I see them pimping around in armored HUMVEE I think of the big “lack of armored HUMVEE” stories from when we first got over there. The Taliban has Humvees? I thought those were made in the USA. Who sold them Humvees? Kind of like selling rifles to the Indians. They’ve got EVERYTHING we left over there, now. Hiden Biden and his Boss The Halfican wants to make sure the Taliban are well armed. Well armed and done in such a way that they cannot be questioned as to how they acquired these arms AND there is no money trail as there was in Benghazi.
