Since this is his Fraudulency's problem, why not have his Fraudulency, his cabinet, and all his administration go to Afghanistan to replace the Americans and Afghanis that are currently being held hostage. That sounds like a pretty good deal to me, and it is very simple.

Gen. Milley is claiming the the US doesn't have the capability of doing more than defending the airport. Probably total BS, but that's the position of the Biden administration. If they stick with this position, I think it's not unlikely we will see Americans in Kabul, and possibly elsewhere in Afghanistan, as de facto hostages.

If they stick with this position, I think it's not unlikely we will see Americans in Kabul, and possibly elsewhere in Afghanistan, as de facto hostages. I'd think we could have a big bunch of Rangers that could be there in 24-30 hours - if we wanted them to be. Seems like that's a Ranger mission, augmented by others if necessary. Does the USMC still have FAST/RTT guys? Seems like they could help too.

I seem to remember we have a big group of fairly well trained guys, who have airfield battle tactics as one of their most important specialties. Maybe I'm mistaken, in my typical American Pride. (Which some pieces of chit call arrogance) But I don't think the Taliban would stand a chance against what we could have sat on that airport already if there was a strong, tough Man in the Whitehouse, like Misters Reagan or Trump.

The rot has gotten deep in the Army if the on-site 82nd Airborne commander, presumably a LtCol or Col, got into a shouting match as described in the tweet. Instead of shouting back at the 2 Para commander, he should have just quietly responded that he's doing all he's allowed to do and let the 2 Para commander vent about the incompetence in D.C. If that CO supports Milley and the SecDef after this debacle, he needs to be forced out with them.
It's a shame we have 7000 troops/Marines on the ground just to guard the airport and none to rescue Americans and allies while the Brits are rescuing as many as they can with just 600 troops. We have Americans around the globe working hard to try to help allied Afghanis get evacuated and yet the folks at the top of our government aren't lifting a finger to even help Americans get to the airport.
