I was just driving home from Hooters. Two things struck me while there. They are having a hard time recruiting talent, and who the hell orders Hooters to go? I mean even with the lower level of talent, it's still Hooters. While I was driving home, the governor was having a COVID press brief. Our governor is a democrat, but I have to applaud him for keeping these briefs absolutely non-political.
He had a doctor come on and give some numbers.
LA is short 6000 nurses.
Tomorrow, hospitalizations will be at an all time high since the pandemic began.
The average age of the person who dies from Covid has dropped from 75 to 65.
Fatalities among people under 40 years of age has gone up nearly 500%
Fully vaccinated people are 25 times less likely to be hospitalized and 25 times less likely to die from COVID.
Vaccinated people are 8 times less likely to contract COVID.
He was still talking when I got home, but I had an order from Natchez Shooters Supply on the porch and wanted to open it, to see what I'd have to return for being defective. lolol

As I've mentioned earlier-wife did develop pneumonia[twice] but refused to be hospitalized either time
That refusal may have saved her life. Same for my sister in law. She refused to go to the hospital, went home and fought through it. She’s still very weak but gradually getting better each day.

"Those Not Vaccinated" "80% of deaths from 8/5 to 8/11 "
That should make all that are vaccinated feel much better. Line up 10 vaccinated folk, tell them that they will all catch the RONA still. 2 of you will DIE Quite the endorsement for this 'vaccine' that's not the way the math works.....
...Actually Sycamore, you are sort of right....

This seasoned idiot laughs in your general direction.
One of us has treated dozens of covid patients that eventually died, and one of us is dramatically posting TOTALS like a scared little beotch.
🤣 I phart in your specific direction. You seem very prone to the fabricated “drama and fear” side of things like most egoist are wont to do. If you don’t like it, don’t read it. Simple enough for even you. Now get up off your fat ass and go help those dozens of covid patients that you’re paid to do instead of running your yap on the Internet while getting paid for doing that. So typical of government employees. Lots of anger in there Toots, maybe you should spend less time on the internet? Yikes. Thanks franny. Coming from a passive blue stater like you must have some merit within that meaningful dialogue. And that’s meaningful why? What if I live in a red State? My profile is pretty old Toots. Want me to push that vein back into your forehead? Holy cow are you a baby. LOL

"Spike in what, cases per day?"
Relative to the two prior 'spikes' over the past 18 months. I still don't know if you are talking about cases per day, hospitalizations or deaths.

read an article this morning about the Lambda variant that is in Houston right now. It seems pretty obvious that it came up through central America.
At any rate, the article said that the balance in vaccinated and non would actually help a bit in keeping the variants from becoming resistant.

I’m amazed at people and the reasons why they won’t get vaccinated. They probably got it for measles, polio, and all the other diseases that nearly wiped from the face of the earth. My brother in Texas excuse it only took 9 months to develop and doesn’t trust it. Biotech companies have been working on various virus vaccines for 20 years. Great minds and modern technology. And all the crap on the internet about the vaccine magnetizing people. It’s not about being a conservative, a Christian, or building one’s immune system as a personal trainer told me. I had two words for my brother - Good Luck!

Because it’s 99.8% survivable and the vaccine is untested. Do you need a better reason(s) than that?
Seriously, for most you have a better chance of dying from another cause!

Seriously, for most you have a better chance of dying from another cause! This is a good reason as far as I am concerned.

I had two words for my brother - Good Luck! Good luck to you, my guess is you'll need it. I know people who have died from the China flu after being fully vaccinated for COVID-19. I don't recall knowing anyone who died or contracted anything after being vaccinated in my youth for what they were vaccinated against.
Life is good live it while you can.

I had two words for my brother - Good Luck! By god he'll need it! Only 99+% chance he can beat it. If he gets it. And even knows it. Or has already had it. The horror.
