I’ve got 2-3 boxes of 243 100gr power points. I’ve never used that bullet/ caliber combo on deer before. Anybody have any first hand experience?
Thx in advance.

The work fine, but if you shoot 'em though the lungs you're unlikely to get a DRT kill.
I've gotten quicker lung shot kills with the 95 grain Deer Season XPs in the 243.

I haven't used that bullet for years and they have changed, but when I was using them I had a great deal of respect for them. I actually use them more in a 6mm than the 243, deadly in both. I've often said it was that bullet that built the .243's early reputation as a good deer round. Okay accuracy, good penetration, and explosive expansion. What's not to like.

you can drop an elk with one, so it'll easily work on a deer....
put in the right spot, its never failed me nor has it required a tracking job either...

Back when Winchester loaded the 243 factory round with the "Power Point Plus" (moly coated) 100gr, they were awesome! I knew an old Ranch foreman (1999) that liked them in his Savage 99E on West Texas Mule Deer. I took a 100rds of them with a custom Mod 700 243 (2002) to a friend in South Africa for a culling rifle. Was with him when he shot Impala for the table, head shots, but they made a golf ball size hole through it, were holding together.

I've been a huge fan of the .243 cartridge for several decades and have tried a number of different bullets for deer and antelope. Best results for me have featured the 95 grain bullet by Winchester Deer Season. Accuracy is absolutely amazing and mushroom performance is predictable.

I killed 19 deer out of a box of 20 shells, 80g winchester power point. So, the 100's should work very well!

had a buddy that shot a 2 point across a canyon 300yds in the snow and when he got up to where the buck was he said the blood trail was awesome. the buck went 50 yds into the pines and piled up dead, you can't beat that except for a drt!

When I hunted with a 243, between Federal Remington and Winchester power points Winchester power points were the best.

Developed a respect for the PP. A close friend needed a rifle for an elk hunt and my loaner was sighted in for 180gr PPs with 58gr of Hunter. 2 weeks later I got my rifle back and a huge backstrap. He said it was a one shot pass thru and only one step after the shot. George

I've killed a couple does and a smaller buck as well as a handful of coyotes around the farm. They seemed to work well, I think I may have a box and a half of those left. Been awhile since I've taken the 243 out
