Yeah, that's lighter than I thought it would be with a #5 barrel and a big scope.

Got some 140 gr Accubonds and some 140 gr. TSX's.
I'm thinking one of them will shoot. smile

That rifle turned out great, I'd sure be proud of it. I'm interested in your thoughts on the stock pattern as I've been pondering that stock for a varmint rifle on a 700.

With my limited exposure to the stock my initial impressions are all positive. The wide fore end is definately wider than what I am accustomed to but not so wide as to be a hindrance of any kind. The comb is a little higher but it's designed that way for the 50mm scopes. For a rifle that might encounter long range shot opportunities it seems to be up to the task.
I can shoulder the rifle with my eyes closed and then open my shooting eye and the scope is right there. No moving or searching for the sight picture.
This is my first full custom and so far I'm impressed and happy.

I hope it does too but it probably won't do any better than your 280 does.
