This is a must-have for me. I hate that it takes left-hand specific mags as I have tons for the right-hand 10-22 rifles.

There have been some complaints about the mags on the rimfire forum, but I don’t see an easy way out of that. The rifle looks to be a mirror image, so the mags will be as well. IF they had been designed originally as a center-feed……, but they weren’t.
Considering all the wishing, praying, and hoping that goes on for left-handed guns, I would think that having to buy special magazines would be a minor issue.
The other complaint seem to be the price, but you simply can’t build one with that type of receiver and bolt for anywhere near the price of the Ruger. Those parts are real upgrades over the ones in standard models. That’s not to say you can’t build a better shooter for less.
I posted some targets from my RH CSC to the thread about the LH models the other day in response to questions about how they shoot.
What fresh Hell is this?

I don't get it....after all these years Ruger makes a LH 10-22 and folks are crying over a magazine. No, it's not cheap and aftermarket stuff may not work, but It's got most of the basic upgrades....and if it's not priced in the stores at retail, it will sell pretty well.

Everybody has their notions, so no problem for me. I’m very happy with my RH model. It certainly outshoots the very sexy RSI I sold to finance it, by a good bit on average. My only regret is that right after I got it they announced the SS model.

The problem is it won't be found for anywhere near MSRP.
If I can find one at an reasonable price I'll pick one up and hopefully Ruger offers some short action Hawkeyes for us lefties.

If I can find one at an reasonable price I'll pick one up and hopefully Ruger offers some short action Hawkeyes for us lefties. They are $700 in my neck of the woods.. Pretty neat rifle. I was one of the ones that was bad mouthing the left hand magazines etc, but after handling the rifle, I like it and see its usefulness... Ruger really went above and beyond with this rifle. I like the stock, the fluted barrel, the extended charging handle. I don't really see anything I'd change, except for the magazine release. The one on the rifle is a little funky. If they have an aftermarket one that goes under the trigger guard, like the one on my right handed 10-22, that's the one I'd put on it.
I try to stick with the basics, they do so well. Nothing fancy mind you, just plain jane will get it done with style. You want to see an animal drop right now? Shoot him in the ear hole. BSA MAGA

One came up on Gunbroker a short while ago, but someone else wanted it more than I did. None in stock in the Las Vegas, NV area so far. I will keep looking. After all these years, I have learned patience.

I'd rather see the American rimfires in LH. Have a RH 17 HMR and that thing is wicked accurate
