Hiked in from a main highway (which one, I will leave as a mystery). No flights.

I am no stranger to parking right next to a stretch of river with no bridge for a while, then putting on waders or crossing by raft, to get to an isolated area without having to hike 20 miles. Just one of my many tricks.
Speaking of sheep hunts I’m doing one on my PlayStation. Let’s see upgrade ammo to exploding Berger’s, oh upgrade to nightforce scope. Sweet I’m ready!

Stop giving away secrets ! No secrets up here, the talkeetnas are hurting big winter kill off and majority of the chugiak is draw only. Bunch of the alaska range is draw as well. The state reduced sheep permits in the tma from 75 to 35, do to winter kill. Not sure how many dcua tags were cut. I don’t know how the brooks range is doing with sheep.

The secrets I was referring to are parking in a place that looks like you can't get to where you want to go, donning waders or some other method to get across a seeming barrier, and then walking in to save the long hike in by the normal routes.
Some folks here might see that and say "why didn't I think of that", instead of taking a pass on the normal 20 mile hike in...............which they are reluctant to do.
Oh, sorry to hear about the winter kill stuff. That sucks. Hoping we have a mild one here for our game after such a crappy drought year. Can't see any species here going into winter in prime shape, every bush, blade of grass, etc is dried out for the most part.

Alright Geno...I edited it.
I am not worried one bit about folks on this board competing with me for my spots but your point is taken. Maybe you could edit your post too, which also gives my secret away!

[ I had a T-loin with lunch and a back strap steak with supper and OMG....this 11 year old mountain ram is seriously one of the best eating wild animals I have ever, and I mean EVER had. Tender and full of non gamey flavor. All I did was sauté them in an electric skillet with a non stick spray. Nothing else. I am impressed.

The balls of my feet are somewhat hurting today, otherwise I feel great. Kind of surprising, considering I could barely move yesterday and feared I would be laid up for several days. Maybe I am young again......or maybe it just says a lot for a GOOD fitting pack, GOOD boots and being so damn insanely GOOD looking. That's @#$%'n rad amigo, congrats!

Sheep harvest in the state is down considerably this year. You did well.

Did you take any other pics? Old man like me, like to see them. As my sheep hunts never got done, way to late now.

Beer thirty! Jeebus Creepers. I was joking. But, I'll edit mine too. Some here know those things, others wouldn't do it even if known, Guess I should have put a big smiley face thing there or something. It's like renegade mentioning some of the little places he goes, no one else wants to do the little work necessary. I think it's cool you (and some others) do that stuff to get into places others won't go. Kind of like hiking in and up from the road looking for elk, still hunting through the thick junipers (no driving in and road hunting up there) at one of my favorite places. Others do it sometimes, as I've found evidence of kills up in the saddle, and I ran across a pair of guys walking from the North once, but it gets very little traffic on top. Found 3-4 satellite bulls up there during archery season on year, and stalked within 10-15 yards, but of course.........................I had a cow tag. And, as evidenced by this, they were still using the area in 2019. (Trigger stick for scale) Getting out of the truck and walking/hiking in/crossing streams or rivers is part of the fun of hunting for me. Unlike you though T, I don't think I'm doing a bivy with wet boots and a space blanket! Maybe for a ram like yours I might change my mind, but I'm mostly past that age. Damn, the arthritis is killing me just thinking of doing that now! Sorry for the misunderstanding. I don't think giving up secrets like crossing a river is going to hurt much, as those that won't do that.............won't do that.

I believe the timeline to edit is 24 hours. My "secret" is really just advice. No secret areas or drainages.....just secret "tactics". Nothing I am worried about causing me competition. You on the other hand, are da man!
