Not to nosy, but just checking comps...

What does a new 75hp JD go for now? Include loader?

Haven’t checked on a Deere, lately (I’ve got a 5085E that is 6 years old, that was $48k, new. It’s still worth about what I paid for it (low hours).) I’m about fed up with the Deere dealer’s nickel and diming service department..

I priced a 70hp Kubota, with loader, last week, and was told approx $58k. I imagine a Deere is about the same, give or take $2-$3k.

An 85-90hp is well over $60k, now. About $15k more than I paid 6 years ago. Thanks, Biden inflation....

That's about what I thought.

I have a 2019 Mahindra 75hp I bought new.

Was at the dealer the other day and he had a new one sitting there, fresh off the truck. I asked him what I could buy it for... $43k. (They list for about 56k +-)

I'd buy another one. Very comfortable, heavy tractor. Very advanced technology. No DEF. No DPF.

Love my Mahindra 6075! smile Probably should have bought that new one the other too.

Nice. Is that a Modern Ag shredder?? (Looks galvanized).

I’ve got an 8’, and LOVE the galvanized finish.

I live in farm country - lots of green around me but Red is really becoming more popular. New purchases seem to be Case.

Tree farm - we always ran Fords. Not New Holland but Ford. And some small Kubota. Uncle just got a new Case tho, JD was nickel and diming him to death. My other uncle had a JD about the size of that Mahindra or slightly larger. Had nothing but problems with it over 6 years. Sold it and hasn't replaced it yet.

I'm not a farmer so I can't say for certain but from what I've observed of those around me - seems like Case and Fendt are getting a lot of new business that Deere isn't.

Seems to me that it's ever changing. We have new Hollands, Kubota's, Massey's, and John Deere's.
We have dealers for all within 5 miles. Have had problems with every one but they've all held up well considering the hrs that get put on them.

Kubota's were the hot commodity for quite a while but that seems to have tailed off a bit.

I agree with others. The dealer support is way more important than the brand or color.

Yessir!

Modern Ag 12' Viper.

Most find it hard to believe, but I can shred much more acreage with that 75hp tractor and 12' Viper in a day's time than I can my 100hp tractor pulling my 15' Woods...

One reason is the speed allowed by the Mahindra gearing, and to make things better, 90% of the time I'm using the 540E (economy) PTO gear, and burning 1/2 as much fuel.

Fendts are about the only thing that make JD 's prices seem reasonable. Most tractors are an international game now. Parts are sourced all over and assembled in various places. Deere's smaller tractors are international and even some of the over 100hp are made overseas (Germany). You can get a lemon from any maker, especially with all the electronics on tractors these days. We have 6 old John Deeres on the farm, several of which are older than me, that are still in service - 4430s, 4010, 3010, etc. I don't know if the newer tractors will ever last that long. I've recently bought a small Kubota (48hp) and a 112 hp New Holland. The New Holland has a lot of features standard that would be expensive add-ons for JD or Kubota and was quite a bit cheaper. Hopefully, it will hold up over the years.

Mauser is my go-to but I still prefer Mannlicher Schoenauer.

We’ve had a small JD for nearly 30 years and it’s still great. Very basic, but very reliable. The newer one is a 10-12 year old Kubota, and it’s been great so far. Seems very solid, much like the JD. JD wants an arm and a leg for parts, but it’s seldom that we’ve needed anything substantial.

We currently have 8 tractors.

Four John Deere- 6430 Premium, 4450, 7510, 7610

Two Versatile- 835, 875

One old IH 656

And mostly recently added a CaseIH 9370

All tractors are 4 wheel drive and diesel except for the little 656.

Thinking about trading the 656 in on a used CaseIH 115 Maxxum.

Moral of the story?

'Older stuff rules'. Zero DEF, and excluding the 6430, zero electronic bullshit.

You have been around the Duck too long!

Premium?

Is that like the Pro Model BBQ grill he has?

Geno needs one for his RANCH.

The Premium means that it is a Premium POS.

Okay, maybe not that bad but I very much dislike the electronically controlled rear SCV's when it's -20F....

I would much rather have a standard version without the fluff!

Probably forgetting a few.

If I counted right from memory, the farm I work for part-time now has 13; the biggest is also their newest - a Case/IH Steiger 535 with BIG duals on all four corners... That sumbish is YUGE...
