We would spend hours and hours at our shooting benches shooting sage rats and shooting the s h I t.
Making silly bets on getting doubles, or high we could get a pile of rats.
We had a week-long trip planned to another friends ranch in Colorado next spring to shoot sage rats, prairie dogs and whatever.
He was a very well-read man and we never ran out of things to talk about. Politics, guns, history all the way through nuclear propulsion.
I would ask him every week if he got his covid shot over the last six months and he kept giving me some excuse or other.
This afternoon, my buddy Dee died of covid19/pneumonia.
I'm going to miss him very much.
I'd rather die in a BAD gunfight than a GOOD nursing home.

Genuinely sorry for your loss.
The blocking of effective treatments by the medical establishment might be more responsible for your friends death than his unwillingness to get the shot.
