I may have missed this, I was looking for a TC Venture II weathershield for a re-bore project. I reached out to a gunshop nearby and asked about the possibility of getting one. They responded that TC has stopped making rifles. Is this the case? If so, should I be wary about purchasing one? There are several on Gunbroker for < 500 bucks. Specifically thinking of getting a 308 and sending it to JES to make it a 358 winchester.
......the occasional hunter wielding a hopelessly inaccurate rifle, living by the fantastical rule that this cartridge can deliver the goods, regardless of shot placement or rifle accuracy. The correct term for this is minute of ego.

Every 10-15 years, S&W gets a wild hare to market a rifle or shotgun. Slapping their name on a Noble design, or a Howa, etc. They always manage to half azz it. Buying TC seems to have been their latest half azzed attempt.
Some say they bought it for the barrel making capability. Don’t know. Real shame, as TC was still making good Encores/Contenders, and were finally making some inroads with the Compass (seems like most ignored the Venture and Icon).
A pity....

S&W discontinued the TC ICON too. That was one heck of an accurate rifle.

The ICON was an great rifle. Too bad it's gone. I'm not anfan of how s&w treats it's customers.

T/C has stopped making all guns. I heard they had and called the factory to confirm. They sent all they had out and are not producing any at the moment. Smith is trying to sell them but no takers so far. I've been looking at a Venture as well. Keep thinking dealers may blow them out since it does not appear to me they are selling but so far the prices have stayed up.
