Radians molded ear plugs. V. Comfortable. In the club I shoot with we yell at each other. Bird, low bird, shoot it again, etc. No trouble hearing except when I miss.

The good news is that there are a lot of different options that work really well for hunters these days ranging from the Howard Leight Quiet Band on one end of the price spectrum with higher end noise cancelling and noise amplifying electronic ear plugs/buds on the other end. They all work to one degree or another and they're all a darn sight better than nothing, especially for higher volume hunting situations like dove and waterfowl.
Here are a few good ones: https://thebiggamehuntingblog.com/best-hunting-ear-protection/

With 15 years in the hearing protection business, I learned that people will use hearing protection that equals what their hearing is worth to them.

For some, that was none. For others, as little as possible. For a few, it was priceless. It's your hearing and your decision. You're the only one who has to live with your choice.

Well I went and got fitted for the EAR aids and the molds are on the way to EAR to be processed. Expensive but hope they work as advertised. Thanks for your help.

I know you'll be happy with them. You'll find that they take a bit of getting used to at first. The tendency will be to crank them up to "hear better" but new users invariably turn them up too high.

With bare ears, rub your fingers together right next to your head. Assuming you can hear that, insert the plugs and adjust the volume so that the same rubbing is just a wee bit louder than before. That's a good setting for hunting. What you don't want is to completely fool your brain with volume such that what sounds like a moose is a mouse.

Now, clap your hands hard. That should sound very muffled and dull. You are done adjusting.
