Chili with beans go in a soup bowl
Chili without beans goes on hotdogs and burgers
Chili without beans is chili, no need to say without beans. "Chili with beans" is something like frijoles con carne. Cincy chili got no beans. 😉

Back in the early '70s, right out of high school, I lived in El Paso and worked with a bunch of work visa Mexicans on a construction site.When they opened their thermos for lunch, their chile con carne contained just two ingredients... small diced pieces of beef(?) and diced hot green chiles. There was no Roy Tel, no Ro Tel, no beans and no spices to make it a blood red mess. Just meat and chile verde.
Might have been pork if the chili was green. Or not.

Is it Roy-tel or roe-tel?

Dude, are you from the Upper Midwest where catsup is considered a spice? Start with a base, mild for the horse trough batch. So that Nana and others with gastric issues can enjoy If you want the Super Hot Fire Engine Diarrhea heat added, I have a gallon zip lock bag of homegrown and dried Serrano peppers that add a good medium heat. Use the Fiskers to cut those. If more is needed, I gangked a bottle of habanero sauce from the mexican dive I frequent. I can send you some AK-47 or Thai chilies I grew this year. The serranos got stunted and just now have a pepper or two on them. The Carolina Reaper plant hasn't set any fruit whatsoever. I'm thinking I dig that baby up, pot it, keep it in the house over the winter, and give it a good start on next season.

Doesn't seem to believe me that those are still good, no rust or bulging and that the dates are there because the "public" demands it and the Corporate lawyers know that some dumb person would eat from a bad can and sue them. I think they found canned goods from Amundsen's and Byrd's expeditions that are still good. Wife doesn't believe that. But what the heck does she know....................she won't even eat liver and heart. I used to collect ketchup, mustard, hot sauce and bbq sauce for camping.
One summer we went to Kings Island and to 4-5 other terrifying roller coaster theme parks.
They have the best condiments in those parks.
I was going to have some killer back country camping cuisine but unfortunately some fuggin field mice got into giant 3-gallon plastic pickle jar I had it in. Them little shîtheads had tunnels in there like an ant farm.
