Saw a bunch of these rotten bastards yesterday.

Used to remember a time when when we would see one a summer, now a half a dozen a day is nothing.

Have to wonder about the decline in population of some of our smaller critters and decline in quality of duck hunting in areas we see eagles on a daily basis.

Is that the ferry back across the river?

ha ha.

mitta been ! Here I've made it down the creek to where the Lake water backs up. There are lots of places along this creek where the Crappy fishin is great in Spring.

I grew up along this creek in the 60s. I swam, fished and shot slither sliders and quail hunted et.al.
Under hi water conditions the alligator gar come up and get caught in deeper holes when the water receeds.

We, I and friends, roamed the fields and streams with shotguns or 22s and NEVER got in trouble.
The America I REMEMBER !!! Long Gone.

My pard and I used to roam about 2000 acres east of where we grew up, some was our families and some we trespassed on, never got caught or at least nobody ever said anything if they knew.

Sometimes we would spend all day roaming and killing small game and we also bowhunted a lot of that area once we got older.

Nowadays if his kids stomped down in that same area they would be in trouble within a couple of hours. Too many people worried about stuff that really never matters even though there are no more houses in that area than there ever were, in fact there are less houses in those bottoms.

Prarie rattler. Fisty little thing when we got close to him. I leave them alone when I find them in the hills but have no qualms with killing them if they are on the poperty.
